With any luck, this new endeavor won't end as badly as sewing or scrapbooking or even cooking, for that matter. I figure if no one in the world is interested in the silly happenings in the Corcoran household, at least Canyon will have some sort of documentation of the beginnings of his existence... minus the first ten months; so I'm a little slow- sorry sweet baby.
Rob has been working up a storm these past few months, but what else is new?
He has taken on the challenge (though I often think I'm the one who's actually being challenged) of working from home more often. He has set up a very meager existence in the room off of the kitchen where Canyon and I are blessed with the not-so-quiet tone of his "business" voice. The second Canyon realizes Rob's behind that door he's on a mission to break in.

Though I get scolded by Rob, I often just sit back and chuckle as Canyon stands himself up against the door and pounds his chubby fist against it in the sometimes futile attempt of getting daddy's attention. When that doesn't work he drops to his little bum and the tears begin to form. That's when I stop giggling and run to his aid, scooping him up and making it all better the way only mommies know how. Occasionally I'm not quite good enough and he drags himself right back to the door to start another round of banging. That's when daddy decides he just can't take it and flies Canyon around the room for a few minutes, which is usually enough to suffice. The two of them are quite a pair and it's amazing to me the close pals they've become.
When Rob isn't working he's probably off somewhere roaming a golf course. I feel guilty looking foward to the snow just so I can have my busy husband back. He's currently in SunValley Idaho on a "Boy's Weekend" and we're missing him already. He told me recently that I ought to take a weekend away for myself, to which I reminded him of a recent comment in which he stated "I really don't like feeding the baby..." Hmmmm, now what do we think the possibilty of my leaving my child for a weekend would be? Sometimes I think he makes these comments up randomly as a diversion :)

As for me, I continue to work at the hospital on a telemetry unit. I work two nights a week so that I don't have to leave Can-can with anyone. It's hard enough to leave him while he's sleeping, it might traumatize him... okay me, to leave him while he's awake. Add to that the fact that I regularly get calls from Rob about the baby while I'm at work and he only has him for two hours. I'm hoping to get back into shape with the help of my wonderful neighbor and keeping busy just being a mom. It's the greatest job I could have ever asked for.
And our sweet little Canyon... this section I'm always going to write to you!
Canyon- You are a handful!! There's really no way to sugar coat it bud, you're just too busy for words! You're a whopping 24 lbs- which essentially means you're a "moose!" But, you're absolutly perfect and we couldn't have hoped for a cuter baby. You're climbing in/up/over everything these days. You regularly race me for the dog bowl- you don't care so much about the food, but you love to splash in the water; which really shouldn't surprise me based on the fact that you would
love to "live" in the bathtub. I love giving you a bath!!! I think you look like an alligator in a

death roll. You just spin around and around, occasionally getting mouthfuls of water in your own wake. Sometimes mommy gets dizzy just watching you. If you're not in the tub, you're standing outside the tub banging on it... you sure do a lot of banging little man- where did you learn that? You love opening drawers and emptying the contents on the floor. You love to throw your food and cup on the floor too. Speaking of cups- your doctor decided you were growing great and should start drinking milk from a big boy cup, which you picked up without a hitch. I was so impressed that I stopped last week at a

McDonalds and got you your first "Happy Meal." We didn't have your cup with us so mommy gave you milk with a straw and you little stud you- it took you all of 4 seconds to figure it out! What a silly thing for mommy to be proud of, but I couldn't wait to tell everyone about it! You got your top two teeth last week, just four months after your bottom two, but who's counting. You love to cruise the furniture, but you're not a fan of people helping you walk. I guess you're just very independent. Any time I've tried to help you walk lately you just slump down on the floor like a blob. And crawling... it's been army style for the

past 3-4 months until last week when you just up and decided to crawl like a regular child. You still revert back to dragging yourself from time to time, but it gets you where you want to go- so I guess that's all that matters. You love the stairs too!! Daddy worries about you rushing up them, seeing as how you have no clue how to get back down, but mommy just follows you from behind and let's you do your thing. Besides, practice makes perfect! You're not a big fan of your car seat lately, but you never fuss too long when I put you in. You love your daddy when your happy and me when your sad- it's so cute!! You're the greatest thing that ever happened to us little Tank! Don't worry buddy, the others I write to you won't be so mushy!
Anyhow, to all who care to read these ramblings... we're all donig well and will hopefully keep up on the comings and goings of our growing family!! (And no, that doesn't mean we're pregnant)
